Yes, Artagen is a pain-killer because it contains naproxen that belongs to the class of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) which possess analgesic (pain-killer) activity. It works by reversibly inhibiting enzymes (cyclooxygenase-1 and -2 also known as COX-1 and -2) which produces prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are responsible for causing pain in the body. Inhibition of these enzymes results in decreased synthesis of prostaglandins which provides relief to the patient from pain.
