Chlorodex is a broad-spectrum antibiotic, active against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It works by inhibiting the bacterial cell division for this it stops the working of enzyme which is responsible for cell division. It is effective against a large number of bacteria, even those bacteria which is other drugs to resistant.
It is recommended to avoid taking Chlorodex with ibuprofen, because it may increase the risk of side effects associated with the central nervous system. Hence you must consult a doctor before taking these two medicines together.
Chlorodex should not be taken together. Harmful drug-drug interaction has been reported between them. Please let your doctor know that you are on warfarin if he/she has prescribed Chlorodex to you.
Yes, you can take Chlorodex for pseudomonas infection. It is active against them. However, sometimes the bacteria acquires resistance against Chlorodex. Please consult your doctor before taking Chlorodex for the above-mentioned infection.
Do not take Chlorodex along with dairy products such as milk or yogurt or calcium-containing foods. Dairy products may affect the absorption of the medicine directly affecting the efficacy of this drug. Hence, avoid taking Chlorodex with calcium-rich foods.
