Rarely, Decol P causes nausea and vomiting. It is a known side effect of this drug. For relief from nausea and vomiting try to take lime water, avoid eating spicy food even if it persists or becomes severe then discuss with your doctor.

Does Decol P contain penicillin?

No, Decol P does not contain penicillin. It contains chloramphenicol which belongs to the class of drugs known as amphenicols. It is a broad spectrum antibiotic which covers a wide range of bacteria which are generally found to be resistant to penicillin. It is also used for those patients who are allergic to penicillin and are suffering from the serious bacterial infection.

Yes, Decol P can treat gonorrhea which is a sexually transmitted infection caused by bacteria Neisseria gonorrhoeae. Usually, other antibiotics are preferred to treat gonorrhea due to decreased side effects and greater efficacy along with faster recovery.
