Diziron Information

Diziron is a prescription drug, available for use as Tablet. It is typically used for the treatment of Motion Sickness. Diziron also has some secondary and off-label uses. These are listed below.

The correct dosage of Diziron depends on the patient's age, gender, and medical history. Besides the medical condition it is advised for, the route of administration also plays an important role in determining the correct drug dosage. Refer to the dosage section for a detailed discussion.

The most common side effects of Diziron are Drowsiness, Nausea or vomiting, Weight gain. While these are the most often observed Diziron side effects, there are can be others also. How does Diziron work?

Diziron contains cinnarizine. It exerts its anti-emetic effect by binding to and blocking the muscarinic and histamine receptors in the vomiting center of the central nervous system (CNS). This blocks the activation of the chemoreceptor trigger zone (CTZ) which prevents as well as reduces nausea and vomiting. It also has calcium channel blocking properties.
