Meprate Tablet is a brand name of medroxyprogesterone and it comes in the form of tablet and injection. It belongs to the class of drug known as progestins. It is a prescription drug that is used for the treatment of menorrhagia (abnormally heavy bleeding), secondary amenorrhoea (absence of periods over the duration of three months or more), and endometrial hyperplasia (overgrown lining of the uterus). How long can I safely take Meprate Tablet?

Usually, Meprate Tablet is given for short-term treatment of amenorrhea and menorrhagia which may vary from case to case basis depending on the condition of the patient. For contraception, one injection of Meprate Tablet is given over the duration of 3 months. Total 4 injections are given throughout the year for effective contraception. The fertility is restored normally after 10 months following the last injection of this drug on an average basis.
