Betasal Information

Betasal is a commercial drug that is prescribed in the form of Lotion. Betasal also has some secondary and off-label uses. These are listed below.

The optimal dosage of Betasal is largely dependent on the individual's body weight, medical history, gender and age. Individual symptoms and route of administration also determines the right dosage. Detailed information has been provided in the dosage section.

Why Betasal is given along with vitamin B 12?

This is because a long-term use of Betasal can cause Vitamin B12 deficiency. Stomach acids help in the absorption of Vitamin B 12, and this drug suppresses stomach acid which is required for the absorption of vitamin B12. Hence patients taking Betasal for a long time have Vitamin B12 deficiency. To replenish Vitamin B12 in your body your doctor prescribes this vitamin along with this medicine.
