Zivast L works by inhibiting an enzyme (HMG-CoA reductase) which is responsible for cholesterol synthesis in our body, its inhibition results in increased levels of HDL (good cholesterol) and decreased levels of LDL (bad cholesterol) which lowers the risk of developing heart disease and helps in preventing strokes
It has been reported to cause weight gain but only in a few cases, this occurs very rarely. However, the exact cause behind this is unknown. if you notice any unusual weight gain after taking this drug. Then you are recommended to discuss it with your doctor.
Yes, Zivast L is safe to use, if taken in a prescribed amount for a specified time as advised by the doctor. However, few side effects are observed at regular doses such as confusion, diarrhea, joint pain, and muscle pain. Do not hesitate to inform your doctor if you are facing any of the above.
Yes, Zivast L has been reported to cause diarrhea but this occurs in a few cases only. It is the most common side effect of this medicine. Drink plenty of fluids while you are taking this medicine.
