Amlopres At is a brand name of the combination of two drugs and it is available in the form of a tablet. These two combination drugs are amlodipine which belongs to the class of drug known as calcium channel blockers and atenolol which belongs to the class of drug known as beta-blockers (beta1-selective (cardioselective) adrenoreceptor blocking agent). It is a prescription drug which is used for the management of hypertension (high blood pressure) and chronic stable angina (chest pain).

Amlopres At contains propranolol and atenolol which are presumed to work through multiple mechanisms. Together they reduce blood pressure and slows down the fast heartbeat by blocking the influx of calcium ions and binding to certain receptors (beta-adrenoceptors) in the smooth muscles of heart which prevent the effect of adrenaline and noradrenaline that also contributes in decreasing myocardial (heart) oxygen demand.
