Capstat is a brand name for ethamsylate. It is a prescription drug which belongs to the class of medication known as a haemostatic drug. Capstat is available in a different dosage form such as tablet and injection. It is mainly used for the treatment of a bleeding disorder. It is also used to treat excess loss of blood during the menstrual cycle or surgery.

If you are experiencing abdominal pain after taking this drug then you are advised to take a mild painkiller such as paracetamol and mefenamic acid.
