Take Miraz once a day preferably at bedtime. It can be taken with or without food because the presence of food does not affect the absorption of this drug from the stomach. Precautions must be taken in patients with mania, seizures, and improper liver function.
Miraz contains mirtazapine which works through multiple mechanisms. Miraz increases the concentration of a neurotransmitter (chemical messenger) serotonin which is presumed to be associated with the feeling of well-being and happiness. Low levels of serotonin in our brain cause low mood and depression. Increased concentration of serotonin in our brain which helps in elevating the mood.

Yes, Miraz is safe to use, if taken in a prescribed amount for a specified time as advised by the doctor.
