Yes, Prasilex causes a headache. It is a common side effect of this drug. However, the exact cause behind this is unknown. Question over 5 years ago

How does Prasilex work?

Dr. Haleema Yezdani MBBS , General Physician

Prasilex contains escitalopram which belongs to the class of drugs known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) that works by inhibiting the reuptake (reabsorption) of a neurotransmitter (chemical messenger) serotonin which is presumed to be associated with the feeling of well-being and happiness. Low levels of serotonin in our brain cause low mood and depression.
