Paracetamol - पैरासिटामोल

Remcold is a brand name of a combination of four drugs and it comes in the form of a tablet and suspension. These four combination drugs are phenylephrine which belongs to the class of drugs known as a sympathomimetic vasoconstrictor, paracetamol which is used as an analgesic (pain-killer) as well as antipyretic (reduces fever), chlorpheniramine belongs to the class of drug known as an antihistamine, and caffeine belongs to the class methylxanthine. It is a prescription drug that is used to relieve itchy- watery eyes, runny nose, sneezing, headache, itching of the nose or throat, sinus congestion, and pain.

Remcold contains a combination of Caffeine, Chlorpheniramine, Paracetamol, Phenylephrine which works through multiple mechanisms. Phenylephrine raises the blood flow in the nasal and helps in treating nasal congestion. Chlorpheniramine work by binding the histamine H1 receptor that blocks the action of histamine and helps in the relief from itchy- watery eyes, runny nose, sneezing, itching of the nose or throat. paracetamol prevents the release of prostaglandin, hence help in getting relief from headaches. Caffeine helps to increase the analgesic effect of paracetamol and decrease the sedation which occurs due to chlorpheniramine.
