Saaz is a brand name of sulfasalazine and it is available in the form of a tablet. It belongs to the class of drug known as anti-inflammatory drugs and disease modifying anti-rheumatoid drugs (DMARDs). It is a prescription drug used for the treatment of ulcerative colitis and for the prolongation of remission periods. It is also used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis due to its immunomodulatory properties. It is prescribed off-label for the treatment of Crohn's disease.
