However, Supermet AM might increase your blood sugar levels slightly, healthy people can tolerate it easily while diabetic patients might face some spike in blood sugar levels. So, if you have diabetes keep a check on your blood sugar levels and in case of a sudden spike inform your doctor and take medicines accordingly.
No, Supermet AM should not be discontinued on your own. Discontinuation of a drug on your own can cause some serious problem such as blood pressure or chest pain which lead to heart attack and stroke. So before stopping this medicine, you must consult your doctor, he/she may switch your treatment if you can not tolerate this drug.
