Uthyrox contains thyroxine which is a synthetic form of naturally occurring thyroid hormone that is produced by the thyroid gland (butterfly gland) in our body. It works by restoring the normal levels of thyroxine in the body whose deficiency is resulting in the disease or disorder. Thyroid hormone helps in the synthesis and regulation of certain hormones (adrenaline and dopamine). It also helps in breaking down (Metabolism) the proteins and processing carbohydrates and vitamins which maintains body weight along with growth and development. In this way Uthyrox works in restoring the normal levels of this hormone which our body requires to complete these essential tasks.
