Manso is a prescription drug so do not take it without consulting doctor. It can be harmful to people to take this medicine without a doctor's advice. If you are taking this drug by yourself then it can be discontinued.
Manso should be taken before a meal because the presence of food can affect the absorption of this drug from the stomach and its therapeutic benefit. Preferably it should be taken once a day in the morning before breakfast. However, some patient may need twice a day, in this case, 1 tablet should be taken in the morning and 1 tablet in the evening before the meal as directed by the doctor. Manso works by blocking the action of an enzyme (H+/K+ATPase) in the cells (parietal) of the stomach which is responsible for acid production in the stomach. Due to blockage of this enzyme, the production of acid is decreased, and this helps to relieve the stomach from acidity, heartburn, GERD, stomach ulcer and other acidity related stomach problem.
