Metaclopramide Information

Metaclopramide is a prescription drug, available for use as Injection. It is primarily used for the treatment of Nausea and Vomiting. Secondary and off-label uses of Metaclopramide have also been mentioned below.

The correct dosage of Metaclopramide depends on the patient's age, gender, and medical history. The condition it has been prescribed for, and the route of administration also determine the right dosage. Detailed information has been provided in the dosage section.

Metaclopramide also has some side effects, the most common being Diarrhoea, Drowsiness, Insomnia. While these are the most often observed Metaclopramide side effects, there are can be others also. These have been listed below. These side effects of Metaclopramide are usually temporary and subside with the completion of treatment. How does Metaclopramide work?

Metaclopramide contains metoclopramide which is an antiemetic agent that prevents from nausea and vomiting by inhibiting certain chemical messengers (neurotransmitters such as dopamine and serotonin) in the brain. In diabetic gastroparesis, Metaclopramide works by increasing gastrointestinal motility and fasting the gastric emptying process. In gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Metaclopramide works by increasing lower esophageal sphincter (LES) tone which prevents the gastric contents to reach food pipe that causes symptoms associated with GERD.

Can I take Metaclopramide with tramadol?
