Yes, Miprost causes bleeding this occurs due to the expelling the tissues of the fetus from the uterus. But if you observe that the heavy bleeding is continuing for more than 2 hours or usage of a sanitary napkin is more than 2 pads every hour, then this situation warrants immediate hospitalization to recover from blood loss. In case of incomplete or unsuccessful abortion, you may require surgical procedures. The heavy bleeding can be due to uterine rupture.
