Decotaz is a brand name of deflazacort. It is a prescription drug that belongs to the class of drugs called steroids (corticosteroid). It is used for the treatment of Duchenne muscular dystrophy which is a progressive disease in which the muscles do not function properly in adults and in children 5 years of age and older.
Decotaz works by suppressing body's normal immune response to inflammation (swelling). This results in reduced inflammation (swelling) and provides relief from the symptoms associated with the Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
