Yes, Norval can be used for anxiety because it contains chlordiazepoxide which belongs to the class of benzodiazepines (sedative and hypnotics) that provides relief from anxiety to the patient by increasing the activity of inhibitory neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA).
Yes, Norval might lower blood pressure (hypotension). It is a rare side effect of this drug. If you are experiencing dizziness or lightheadedness after taking this drug which is a symptom of low blood pressure, then you are advised to lay down immediately till it subsides and drink salty water.
Yes, Norval can make you sleepy because it crosses the blood-brain barrier (a membrane that prevents the drugs from entering into the brain).
