Trich is a brand name of chlordiazepoxide and it is available in the form of a tablet. It belongs to the class of drug known as benzodiazepines (sedative and hypnotic). It is a prescription drug which is mainly used in the management of anxiety disorders. Trich is also used to control agitation caused by alcohol withdrawal.

Yes, Trich can make you sleepy because it crosses the blood-brain barrier (a membrane that prevents the drugs from entering into the brain). After entering into the brain this drug calms the brain by increasing the activity of inhibitory neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) that results in drowsiness. It is the most common side effect of this medicine.
