Rhinojet is a brand name of oxymetazoline and it is available in the form of nasal drops and nasal spray. It belongs to the class of drug known as an alpha-adrenergic agonist (sympathomimetic agent). It is an over the counter (OTC) drug that is used to provide relief from nasal congestion associated with common cold, hay fever, sinusitis, and allergic rhinitis.
Put 1 - 2 drops or 1 spray of Rhinojet in each nostril 2 times a day or as advised by your doctor. Precautions must be taken in patients with hypertension (high blood pressure), diabetes mellitus, and hepatic or renal disorder.
Rhinojet contains oxymetazoline which is a nasal decongestant that works by causing constriction (shrinking) of blood vessels which are present in our nose. This results in the decrease of swelling and congestion in the nose which opens the nasal passages and relieves from nasal stuffiness that allows easy nasal breathing.
Yes, Rhinojet can be discontinued without doctors advice if you are taking it by yourself. However, if it has been prescribed by your doctor and you are planning to discontinue it, then you are advised to discuss it with your doctor.
