Sedoril Plus is a brand name of sodium citrate. It belongs to the class of drugs known as alkalinizing agents. It is a prescription drug which is used for the treatment of gout (a type of arthritis that occurs due to formation and deposition of uric acid crystals in the joints) and prevention of nephrolithiasis (kidney stones). It is also used in the treatment of metabolic acidosis (decrease in blood pH levels) and cough as well as an anticoagulant during plasmapheresis (a process which removes the harmful antibodies through filtering the blood).
