Sparcin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic, active against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It works by inhibiting enzymes such as topoisomerase II (DNA gyrase) and topoisomerase IV which are essential for the bacterial cell to repair, DNA replication, transcription, and recombination. Thus it kills the bacteria. It is effective against a large number of bacteria, even those bacteria which are resistant to other drugs.

Discontinuing Sparcin on your own can increase the chances of bacterial resistance and infection relapse. It is recommended that you always consult your doctor if you have decided to discontinue this medicine.
