No, Teleact CT is not a beta blocker/calcium channel blocker/diuretic/blood thinner/ace inhibitor. It is angiotensin II receptor blocker (an antihypertensive drug).
Yes, Teleact CT causes hyperkalemia (high amount of potassium in the blood). Therefore, monitoring of blood potassium levels is important during Teleact CT therapy.
Teleact CT contains telmisartan which is an antihypertensive drug that works by preventing a chemical (angiotensin II) to bind with a receptor. This causes relaxation of blood vessels, it also prevents the synthesis and release of aldosterone (a hormone whose hyperactivity results in high blood pressure). In this way Teleact CT decreases the blood pressure.
Teleact CT is available in the form of tablets. A tablet is usually taken once a day, with or without food because food affects the absorption of this drug. It should be taken at exactly the same time every time to avoid skipping the dose. Teleact CT might start showing the effects between 2 to 4 weeks, therefore, it is important to continue taking it even when you feel well.
