Bromycodex Information

Bromycodex is a commercial drug that is prescribed in the form of Syrup. Bromycodex also has some secondary and off-label uses. These are listed below.

The optimal dosage of Bromycodex is largely dependent on the individual's body weight, medical history, gender and age. The condition it has been prescribed for, and the route of administration also determine the right dosage. Detailed information has been provided in the dosage section.

Bromycodex also has some side effects, the most common being Skin Rash, Epigastric Pain, Bronchospasm. Some other side effects of Bromycodex have been listed ahead. These side effects of Bromycodex are usually temporary and subside with the completion of treatment. If, however, they worsen or do not go away, please speak with your physician.

It is also important to note that Bromycodex has a Severe effect for pregnant women and Severe effect on lactating mothers. Warnings related to Bromycodex's effects on the liver, heart and kidney, if any, have been listed below.

This is the usual dosage recommended in most common treatment cases. Please remember that every patient and their case is different, so the dosage can be different based on the disease, route of administration, patient's age and medical history.

  • Before or After Meal: Either
  • Single Maximum Dose: 10 ml
  • Dosage Route: Oral
  • Frequency: 4 hourly
  • Course Duration: As directed by the doctor
  • Special Instructions: strength 1.25 mg Terbutaline, 4 mg bromhexine and 50 mg guaifenesin in 5 ml
2 - 12 years (Child)
  • Disease: Asthma
  • Before or After Meal: Either
  • Single Maximum Dose: 5 ml
  • Dosage Route: Oral
  • Frequency: 4 hourly
  • Course Duration: As directed by the doctor
  • Special Instructions: strength 1.25 mg Terbutaline, 4 mg bromhexine and 50 mg guaifenesin in 5 ml, below 6 years old can take 2.5 ml
Adult
