Clopram Information

How does Clopram work?

Clopram contains metoclopramide which is an antiemetic agent that prevents from nausea and vomiting by inhibiting certain chemical messengers (neurotransmitters such as dopamine and serotonin) in the brain. In diabetic gastroparesis, Clopram works by increasing gastrointestinal motility and fasting the gastric emptying process. In gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Clopram works by increasing lower esophageal sphincter (LES) tone which prevents the gastric contents to reach food pipe that causes symptoms associated with GERD.
