Ibutal Information

Ibutal is a prescription medicine that is available as a Tablet. Ibutal also has some secondary and off-label uses. These are listed below.

The right dosage of Ibutal depends on the age, gender, and medical history of the patient. Besides the medical condition it is advised for, the route of administration also plays an important role in determining the correct drug dosage. Refer to the dosage section for a detailed discussion.

Ibutal also has some side effects, the most common being Nausea or vomiting, Diarrhoea, Constipation. Apart from the aforementioned side effects, Ibutal can also lead to other problems, which have been listed below. Usually, these side effects of Ibutal go away soon, and do not persist beyond the duration of the treatment. If, however, they worsen or do not go away, please speak with your physician.

What is Ibutal?

Ibutal is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which is used for the treatment of tenderness, swelling, stiffness, and pain associated with osteoarthritis in which there is a breakdown of the lining of the joints, and rheumatoid arthritis in which there is swelling of the lining of the joints. It is also used for alleviation of the menstrual pain, before and during the menstrual cycle. It is also used to relieve fever and pain associated with a headache, minor aches, sprains, common cold, toothache, and backache. It also shows the antiplatelet effect which means it prevents the formation of blood clots. Ibutal is used for the treatment of psoriatic arthritis (a chronic skin disease causing scaling and swelling), gouty arthritis (which develops from the built up of some chemical in the joints) and ankylosing spondylitis (arthritis that affects the spine).
