Interaction between Food and Neksium 40 Mg Tablet

Interaction between Alcohol and Neksium 40 Mg Tablet
Consuming Neksium 40 Mg Tablet with alcohol can have many serious effects on your body.
Neksium should be taken 1 hour before the meal because the presence of food can affect the absorption of this drug from the stomach and its therapeutic benefit. Preferably it should be taken once a day in the morning before breakfast. However, some patient may need twice a day, in this case, 1 tablet should be taken in the morning and 1 tablet in the evening before the meal as directed by the doctor. Please consult your doctor regarding the exact dosage regimen of medicine and follow his/her instruction.
Take Neksium as long as needed, but do not take more than 4 weeks. If your symptoms still persist even after 4 weeks then consult your doctor before taking this drug afterward.
Neksium works by blocking the action of an enzyme (H+/K+ATPase) in the cells (parietal) of the stomach which is responsible for acid production in the stomach. Due to blockage of this enzyme, the production of acid is decreased, and this helps to relieve the stomach from acidity, heartburn, GERD, stomach ulcer and other acidity related stomach problem.
Yes, Neksium may cause dry mouth because it decreases the saliva secretion in your mouth. It is a common side effect of this drug. If you experience excess dry mouth after taking this drug, keep yourself hydrated with juices, shakes and ample water.
Yes, Neksium can be taken with Zantac. Both medicines work by reducing the acid secretion in the stomach which relieve from the stomach ulcer and acidity. No harmful drug interactions have been reported between them. Please consult your doctor before taking the two medications together.
