Proficent is a brand name of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) and it comes in the form of injection. It is a prescription drug that belongs to the class of drugs known as gonadotropins. It is a prescription drug which is used for the treatment of delayed puberty in males associated with hypogonadism, male infertility due to hypogonadotropic hypogonadism, and prepubertal cryptorchidism. How does Proficent work?

Proficent contains human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) which is a hormone similar to luteinizing hormone (LH). It works differently in males and females. In males, it works by stimulating the production of testosterone through inducing interstitial cells (Leydig cells) of the testis which helps in infertility and brings puberty. In females Proficent works by stimulating the production of progesterone through corpus luteum of the ovary.
