Interaction between Alcohol and Supertel
Taking Supertel with alcohol can have severely harmful effects on your health.
Supertel contains telmisartan which is an antihypertensive drug that works by preventing a chemical (angiotensin II) to bind with a receptor. This causes relaxation of blood vessels, it also prevents the synthesis and release of aldosterone (a hormone whose hyperactivity results in high blood pressure). In this way Supertel decreases the blood pressure.
Yes, Supertel may cause a cough on rare occasions. If you experience a cough while taking Supertel, please talk to your doctor immediately.
No, Supertel doesn't cause a headache. However, if you experience a headache while using Supertel, please consult your doctor without any delay.
Yes, Supertel causes hyperkalemia (high amount of potassium in the blood). Therefore, monitoring of blood potassium levels is important during Supertel therapy.
