Thiovas T contains telmisartan which is an antihypertensive drug that works by preventing a chemical (angiotensin II) to bind with a receptor. This causes relaxation of blood vessels, it also prevents the synthesis and release of aldosterone (a hormone whose hyperactivity results in high blood pressure). In this way Thiovas T decreases the blood pressure.
Thiovas T can be taken as long as it is prescribed by your doctor. You must not discontinue taking it even when you start feeling well. In addition, you must not take it more frequently as that can have adverse effects. Follow the recommendations of your doctor completely.
