Discontinuing Xop AZ in between may promote resistance to bacteria which may result in a relapse of the infection. You are recommended to complete the 7 - 14 days course even after getting symptomatic relief. Incase you feel any discomfort such as breathing difficulties and skin reactions while taking this medicine please inform your doctor immediately.
Xop AZ does not help in preventing cold, because common cold is a viral infection. However, the drug can help in bringing relief from symptoms of cold, if it is associated with a bacterial infection. Yes, Xop AZ can cause diarrhea by disturbing bacterial flora of gut. It is a common side effect of this drug. However, if you are experiencing severe diarrhea after consuming this medicine inform the doctor immediately and check if you can discontinue the medicine. Try keeping yourself hydrated, drink plenty of fluids and take ample rest.
