Due to lack of research, there is no information about the side effects of taking Prilocef 500 Mg Capsule with alcohol.
Prilocef contains cefalexin which is a broad-spectrum antibiotic. It works by preventing the cell wall synthesis in bacteria by binding to specific proteins (penicillin-binding proteins). The cell wall protects the bacteria from the environment, in the absence of this cell wall, the bacteria becomes vulnerable and dies. Prilocef is effective against a wide range of both gram negative and gram positive bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis, Streptococcus pyogenes, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus pneumoniae, Proteus mirabilis, and Klebsiella pneumoniae.
Yes Prilocef can be taken with diphenhydramine. Diphenhydramine does not appear to interfere with the efficacy of Prilocef. Hence, it is alright to take them together. However, if you feel any discomfort after taking this drug do not hesitate to inform your doctor.
No, Prilocef does not cover the strains related to Pseudomonas species. They are generally found to be resistant to Prilocef. Hence, it is not recommended to use this drug for the treatment of the infection caused by Pseudomonas species.
