Tizu, a prescription drug, is manufactured in various forms such as Tablet. Tizu also has some secondary and off-label uses. These are listed below.

Tizu is a brand name of nimesulide. It is a prescription drug that belongs to the class of medication called NSAIDs (Nonsteroidal Antiinflammatory Drugs). It has been used primarily for short-lasting painful inflammatory conditions like sports injuries, sinusitis, and other ear-nose-throat disorders, dental surgery, bursitis (Inflammation of the fluid-filled sac in the joints), lower backache, dysmenorrhoea (painful menstruation), post-operative pain, osteoarthritis and for fever.

Does Tizu make you drowsy?

 No, Tizu does not cause drowsiness because prescribed Tizu has no effect on the central nervous system but an overdose of Tizu may lead to lethargy, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, drowsiness, gastrointestinal bleeding. Hypertension, acute renal failure, coma, and respiratory depression may occur but are rare.

Can Tizu be used for toothache?

Ideally Tizu is not prescribed by a doctor for a toothache. However, in the absence of painkillers such as ibuprofen, acetaminophen, naproxen etc, nimesulide can be taken to get instant relief from tooth pain. Generally, for treating toothache arising due to dental cavities and dental procedures ibuprofen along with antibiotics are recommended by dentists to reduce swelling and pain.
