Dr. Chinmaya Bal MBBS , General Physician

Xenar contains naproxen (which is a pain-killer) that works by reversibly inhibiting enzymes (cyclooxygenase-1 and -2 also known as COX-1 and -2) which produces prostaglandin. Prostaglandin is presumed to be responsible for causing pain and inflammation in the body. Inhibition of these enzymes results in decreased synthesis of prostaglandins which provides relief to the patient from pain and inflammation caused by arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis.
