During the first trimester, your body undergoes various drastic changes due to the hormonal changes. In the 4th week of pregnancy, your body starts producing HCG (Human Chronic Gonadotropin). Release of this hormone can lead to numerous changes and symptoms such as:

The outer layer of this sac develops into placenta which grows deeper in to the womb to make sure that the embryo gets all the necessary nutrients and oxygen from the mother’s blood.
